Section 3: Creating TextWe're going to create some simple text first. (We'll cover more about the Text function and provide specific information on some of the features in a later section.)
To create text, you will first need to open your Text Settings window by clicking on the
When the Text button has been selected, you should see the "Text Settings" window. You may type your letters or words you wish to cut into the entry field at the bottom of this window, as seen below.
You may also opt to alter the font style by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to the listed font at the top of this screen. When you have your text entered and the desired font selected, click on "OK". Make sure to keep the "Outline" feature checked for cutting purposes. Un-checking the "Outline" feature would result in your created text being in a print format rather than a cutting format, and the Silhouette would ignore the created text.
When "OK" is selected, you will see your selected text in a blue box which will move with your mouse until you left-click to drop the text onto the screen. |
